Ames, Iowa • Jacob Evans III made two free throws with 20 seconds left in overtime and Cincinnati upset No. 19 Iowa State 55-54 on Thursday night, the Cyclones' second straight loss.

Kyle Washington had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Evans had 11 points for the Bearcats (6-1), who also snapped Iowa State's 37-game non-conference home winning streak.

Cincinnati outrebounded the smaller Cyclones 46-34. It shot just 3 of 21 from 3-point range and 35.5 percent overall, but its defense stifled Iowa State (5-2) down the stretch.

No. 8 Gonzaga 97, Mississippi Valley St. 63 • In Spokane, Wash., Josh Perkins and Silas Melson had 15 points apiece as Gonzaga remained undefeated and kept Mississippi Valley State winless. All of Perkins' points came on five first-half 3s.

No. 20 South Carolina 68, Vermont 50 • In Columbia, S.C., PJ Dozier had a career-high 21 points and South Carolina beat Vermont. Maik Kotsar had eight points in a 13-1 run and Dozier had a 3-pointer and an alley-oop pass as South Carolina took a 49-32 lead.

No. 24 Florida 91, North Florida 60 • In Jacksonville, Fla., Chris Chiozza scored 16 points, Justin Leon had 13 and Florida beat North Florida. —
