Utah Jazz star small forward Gordon Hayward will be a gametime decision tomorrow and hopes to make his season debut against the New York Knicks, The Salt Lake Tribune has learned.

Hayward has been out for a month, rehabbing the left ring finger he broke during the preseason. In his stead, the Jazz have started veteran Joe Johnson. The Jazz have started the season 3-3 without him.

According to league sources, Hayward will have one last evaluation. He will then go through his normal pregame warmup and then the team will make a decision from there.

Hayward led the Jazz in scoring last season at 19 points per game. His initial diagnosis indicated that he would be out for six weeks. If he plays against the Knicks on Sunday, he will have made it back in just over the four week mark.

Utah is beginning its first long road trip of the season. The Jazz will play five games in seven nights this week.
