The Utah Valley men's soccer team defeated host San Jose State, 2-1, on Sunday to push its winning streak to a school-record six consecutive matches, even as the Wolverines' string of shutouts ended at five.

Skyler Milne and Matt Gay each scored for UVU, with Aaron Meyer assisting on both goals. Gay's game-winner was the sophomore's first goal of the season.

With the victory, Utah Valley (13-3-0, 6-1-0 WAC) clinched a spot in the postseason tournament.

Rory Knibbs beat UVU goalkeeper Mitch Jensen in the 27th minute to tie the score.It was first goal allowed by Jensen in more than 566 minutes in goal in the junior's first season of Division I soccer.

The Spartans dropped to 2-12-2, 1-5-1.

MSU Denver 1, Westminster 0 • Jeff Gillis scored in the 56th minute as MSU Denver (9-6-1, 7-4-1 RMAC) topped the Griffins (3-12, 2-10) in their home finale.

Women's soccer

Stanford 2, Utah 0 • In Stanford, Calif., the third-ranked Cardinal (14-1-1, 7-1-0 Pac-12) scored twice in the first half and held on to hand the No. 23 Utes (10-3-3, 5-1-2) their first conference loss of the season.

UNLV 1, Utah State 0 • In Las Vegas, Nev., Lily Sender scored in the 98th minute to left the Rebels (14-3-2, 7-1-2 MWC) to the overtime victory over the Aggies (10-8-0, 6-4-0). Grace McGuire had six saves for Utah State.

Portland State 2, Weber State 1 • In Hillsboro, Ore., senior Lana Willard scored for the Wildcats (5-10-2, 3-6-1 Big Sky), who fell in overtime in their final match of the season.

Idaho 4, Southern Utah 0 • In Moscow, Idaho, the Vandals (9-4-4, 6-1-2) scored three goals in the second half to pull away from the Thunderbirds (3-11-2, 2-6-1).

CSU-Pueblo 1, Westminster 0 • In Pueblo, Colo., Brianna Garcia scored in the 70th minute to down the Griffins (8-4-3, 5-3-3 RMAC).

Women's volleyball

Concordia-Irvine 3, Dixie State 0 • In St. George, the Trailblazers closed out homecoming weekend with a 25-23, 27-25, 25-19 loss to the Eagles (20-2, 11-2 PacWest).

Senior Delayne Daniel had team highs of 12 kills and 10 digs to lead Dixie State (12-8, 8-4).

Women's golf

Southern Utah at Lady Mustang Invitational • In Arroyo Grande, Calif., the Thunderbirds wrapped up play at the 2016 Lady Mustang Invitational on Sunday, finishing fifth.

The day was highlighted by Miranda Reyes, who carded the first ever albatross in the history of the women's golf program on the 18th hole at Cypress Ridge as she carded a two on the closing par-5.

The albatross helped boost Reyes up 15 spots from her finish on the first day, and she ended up as the top finisher overall for the Thunderbirds. She shot a one-over 73 on Sunday to finish at 151 and in a tie for eighth in the entire field.
