State colleges: Utah women's soccer defeats Beavers

Hailey Skolmoski scored for the Utes and the Utah women's soccer team won against the Oregon State Beavers, 1-0 at Ute Field.

Utah's July Mathias had two saves. Bella Geist made seven saves for Oregon State (5-6-2, 0-4-0 Pac-12).

Skolmoski logged her ninth goal for the Utes, who improved to 8-2-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the Pac-12.

BYU 1, Loyola Marymount 0 • In Los Angeles, Michelle Vasconcelos scored in the ninth minute to lift the Cougars (11-1-1) to victory.

Men's soccer

UVU 3, CSU Bakersfield 0 • In Orem, the Wolverines scored three goals in the first half on their way to shutting out the Roadrunners.

Women's volleyball

BYU 3, Saint Mary's 0 • In Provo, Lacy Haddock led the Cougars over Saint Mary's in straight sets (25-20, 25-14, 25-10).

BYU (15-2, 4-1 West Coast) had 10 kills from Haddock and McKenna Miller in the win over Saint Mary's ( 8-9, 3-3 WCC)

Utah State 3, Air Force 1 • In Colorado Springs, Colo., the Aggies (709, 2-3 Mountain West) defeated the Falcons (9-10, 0-6 MW) with a four-set victory (25-19, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20).

Montana State 3, Weber State 2 • In Bozeman, Montana, the Wildcats (11-3, 2-3 Big Sky) won the second and third sets, but were defeated by the Bobcats ( 4-10, 2-3 Big Sky) in a tight contest (30-32, 19-25, 23-25, 25-15, 15-11).

Idaho 3, Southern Utah 2 • In Moscow, Idaho, the Thunderbirds (2-15, 0-5 Big Sky) fell to the Vandals (7-10, 2-3 Big Sky), dropping their 10th match in a row.
