A 400 meter distance run is fairly manageable for athletes of any experience level — just under a quarter of a mile from start to finish.

However, a 400 meter sprint at an elevation of 6,870 feet up a 37-degree incline is a different challenge altogether.

The Red Bull 400 returns to Park City Saturday as the highest elevation 400 meter competition in the world, held at the Utah Olympic Park. The endurance test includes full-distance men's and women's categories and a 4X100 co-ed relay with 650 runners expected to compete by running to the top of the 2002 Olympics ski jump.

Race heats begin at 10:15 a.m. with a $50 registration cost for solo participants and $120 for a relay team with spectators welcome to watch for free. The event has had previous stops in Kazakhstan, Finland, Germany, Canada, Czech Republic, Austria and Slovenia.
