Vermillion, S.D. • Miles Bergner kicked a 34-yard field goal in the second overtime and South Dakota rallied from a 21-point, fourth-quarter deficit to stun Weber State 52-49 on Saturday afternoon.

"This one hurts but we have to keep our heads up and move on," said WSU head coach Jay Hill. "We played like a really good football team for a while but had some things happen late that we have to fix. We didn't take care of the ball and made mistakes and you can't do that and win games."

Weber State's Taylor Hintze missed a 36-yard attempt in the first possession of the second overtime period.

Weber State (0-2) led 21-0 midway through the first quarter after a Landon Stice 63-yard interception return and a Cardon Malan fumble recovery. The Wildcats led 42-21 after three quarters, but South Dakota (1-1) roared back with three scoring drives in the fourth.

Chris Streveler found Brandt Van Roekel on a 42-yard strike and Shamar Jackson from 26 yards out on 4th-and-12 to tie the score at 42-all with 27 seconds left in regulation.

Streveler threw for 173 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 125 yards and two scores for South Dakota.

Treshawn Garrett led the Wildcats with 141 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Jadrian Clark threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns but did have two interceptions.

Defensively, Tre'von Johnson and Landon Stice each led had 14 tackles to lead the Wildcats.
