Bridgeview, Ill. • Jozy Altidore had a goal and an assist and Toronto FC beat the Chicago Fire 2-1 on Saturday night to move into first place in the Eastern Conference.

Altidore opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, finishing Justin Morrow's cross from the middle of the area. Altidore assisted Jonathan Osorio's goal in the 52nd minute, blocking Sean Johnson's errant throw-out so Osorio could send back an easy chip shot past the out-of-position goalkeeper.

Altidore has six goals in his last eight games — nine in 10 counting his two U.S. national team appearances.

Revolution 3, New York FC 1 • In Foxborough, Mass., Diego Fagundez had a goal and an assist to help New England beat New York City.

Whitecaps 3, Crew 1 • In Columbus, Ohio, Andrew Jacobson scored the go-ahead goal in the 74th minute, Erik Hurtado added another in the 82nd and Vancouver beat Columbus.

Impact 1, Union 1, tie ı • In Chester, Pa., Matteo Mancosu tied it with a header in the 88th minute and Philadelphia held on for a the draw with Montreal.

Rapids 1, FC Dallas 0 • In Frisco, Texas, Dominique Badji scored, Tim Howard had a season-high seven saves and Colorado beat FC Dallas to snap a four-game winless streak.

Sounders 1, Earthquakes 1, tie • In San Jose, Calif., Nicolas Lodeiro scored in the 80th minute and Seattle rallied to tie San Jose. —
