Kyle Kendrick allowed three hits in four scoreless innings, two relievers combined for three hitless innings and the Salt Lake Bees defeated host Las Vegas 3-0 to earn a split in Thursday's doubleheader.

Tim Lincecum struggled in the opener as the Bees fell to the 51s, 10-5.

First baseman Ji-Man Choi led the Bees in the victory, going 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Andrew Bailey (1-1) struck out one while pitching the fifth inning and earned the win. Keynan Middleton pitched the final two innings for his second save. He struck out two batters.

Kendrick was making his first start since June 30 due to a right shoulder impingement. He struck out four.

In Game 1, Lincecum (0-3) allowed eight hits and eight runs ­ — five earned — in four innings. He walked three batters and struck out four, while also committing a throwing error in the third inning.

Salt Lake committed three errors overall.

Cal Towey homered and drove in three runs for the Bees, while Daniel Nava also homered and had two RBIs.
