Bees end skid with shutout

Kyle McGowin struck out five in six scoreless innings and the Salt Lake Bees ended their five-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory over the host El Paso Chihuahuas on Monday.

McGowin (6-11) allowed five hits and did not walk a batter. Lucas Luetge pitched the seventh and Keynan Middleton pitched the final two innings for his first save. Luetge and Middleton each gave up a hit and struck out three.

Anthony Benboom went 3-for-3 and drove in a run for the Bees, and Sherman Johnson doubled and drove in a run.
