The Utah Jazz on Monday announced the team had signed second-round pick Marcus Paige.

The 6-foot-2 point guard out of North Carolina was the 55th pick in the June draft. Paige averaged 7 points, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game with the Jazz during summer league play.

The Jazz already have four point guards under contract with George Hill, Dante Exum, Raul Neto and Shelvin Mack.

Paige's deal means he will be in training camp with the team and, most likely, would end up suiting up for the D-League Salt Lake Stars to start next season.

Paige, 22, averaged 13.1 points, 4.3 assists and 2.8 rebounds a game over four years at North Carolina, leading the Tar Heels to the national championship game last March.
