The Utah Jazz have signed former Weber State standout Joel Bolomboy, the team announced Friday. Bolomboy, an athletic, 6-9 forward, was the 52nd overall pick in the NBA draft last June.

As a senior at Weber State last year, Bolomboy averaged 17.1 points a game and was third in the nation in rebounding at 12.6 boards per game.

The 22-year-old Bolomboy struggled early in summer league play, but seemed to settle down as the showcase continued. In Las Vegas last month, the reigning Big Sky Conference player of the year averaged 7.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1 assist in 19 minutes a game.

The terms of the deal were not made public, but if Bolomboy remains on the roster beyond training camp the Jazz would have to trade or waive another player currently under contract.
