Sandy • Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando can claim one more record all to himself.

In RSL's 3-1 victory over the Chicago Fire on Saturday night, the veteran RSL goalie broke out of a tie for Major League Soccer's all-time wins mark Saturday night, notching career victory No. 181.

RSL's Olmes Garcia opened the scoring in the 15th minute. Midfielder Javier Morales rolled a square pass along the edge of the 18-yard box and to Garcia's foot. The forward took aim from straightaway and caught Chicago goalie Matt Lampson leaning just far enough to sneak a rolling shot into the lower left corner.

Then, a penalty in the 28th minute gave RSL a chance to double its lead.

Chicago defender Eric Gehrig caught RSL striker Burrito Martinez with a shoulder in front of goal, knocking the forward to the ground. Morales took the penalty, stutter stepping, firing and converting the attempt for his second goal in seven days.

In the 58th minute, it was former RSL man Arturo Alvarez who made things interesting. The midfielder needed one touch after cross from Nick LaBrocca to beat Rimando far post, making it 2-1.

But the 36-year-old Morales wasted little time in rebuilding RSL's cushion. Morales scored his second goal of the night when he fired a shot from the top of the box, the ball hitting the right post and bouncing kindly past Lampson into the goal.

With the victory, RSL improved to 10-7-7 (37 points) on the year. —
