Dan Vogelbach hit a two-run homer and Patrick Kivlehan doubled in a pair of runs in the 10th inning Sunday night, leading Tacoma to a 7-5 win over Salt Lake. The Bees dropped to 8-27 against PCL's four division leaders — Nashville, Oklahoma City, El Paso and the Rainiers.

Turning Point • Salt Lake owned a 4-2 lead when pitcher Greg Mahle walked the first two batters in the sixth inning. The Rainiers then wiped out the deficit on Zach Shank's two-run double and Ryan Strausborger's sacrifice fly.

Bees MVP • Faced with a hole in his rotation, Salt Lake manager Keith Johnson used four pitchers out of the bullpen in this game. Lucas Luetge gave the Bees a lift with two scoreless innings. He fanned three batters and 24 of his 33 pitches were strikes.

Hidden Hero • In the bottom of the second, Angel Rosa's hard slide into second base on Craig Gentry's ground ball helped prevent Tacoma from turning an inning-ending double play. Salt Lake ended up scoring three runs.

Flashing Leather • Trailing by a run in the seventh, the Bees' Cliff Pennington walked. Nick Buss followed with a line drive to right, where Strausborger made a leaping catch. His strong throw to first base doubled off Pennington.

Angel Angle • Salt Lake has returned Angel Genao to Orem of the Pioneer League. The Bees needed an emergency catcher over the weekend while waiting for Juan Graterol to report after he was sent down by the Angels.

History lesson • On July 24, 2000, Torii Hunter goes 4-for-5 and drives in four runs, but visiting Albuquerque scores a 10-9 win over the Buzz. The crowd of 16,531 fans remains the largest in franchise history.
