Real Monarchs midfielder Elder Torres has been selected for the Honduras U-23 National Team for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The 21-year-old participated in pre-tournament friendlies with the team that finished second in Olympic qualifying in October. Honduras faces Algeria, Portugal and Argentina in the group stage of the Olympic tournament after reaching the quarterfinals in London in 2012.

Torres is on loan to the Monarchs from CD Social Vida and has one goal and two assists in 12 club appearances so far this season.
