Bees 2, Storm Chasers 0

Salt Lake pitcher Tyler Skaggs struck out 14 batters, matching a franchise record and setting a career high, to lead the Bees over the Storm Chasers, 2-0, on Thursday in Omaha.

Skaggs, who pitched seven innings, tied the mark set by Jered Weaver in a game against Sacramento on June 23, 2006.

Skaggs (2-2) gave up a two-out single in the first inning and then retired the last 19 batters he faced.

The Bees also tied a team record for a nine-inning game by striking out 19 batters.

Carlos Perez and Rafael Ortega hit solo home runs for Salt Lake.
