For the third straight game, the Salt Lake Bees were cold offensively and the Fresno Grizzlies were mechanical. Despite loading up the bases in the seventh down 4-0 with three outs to work with, the Bees failed to record timely RBIs in an eventual 7-1 loss. After returning home riding a four-game winning streak, the Bees have now dropped three straight at home for a 38-42 overall record.

Turning Point • Quintin Berry came in to pinch hit for Ryan Jackson in the seventh trailing 4-0 with the bases loaded and two out. It was the Bees' best chance to cut into the deficit. Berry made good contact toward shallow left, but was narrowly beat at first, leaving all three runners stranded.

Bees MVP • For the third straight game in the series, Ji-Man Choi produced hits in a lost cause. Leading off the seventh inning with an infield single that positioned the Bees for their best chance at a comeback, Choi finished 2-for-3.

Hidden Hero • It wasn't the prettiest five innings for Tyler Skaggs, who was brought down Saturday night on assignment, but he did enough to keep the Bees within striking distance. Despite giving up six hits and two earned runs — one home run — Skaggs made sure the game didn't get out of hand and also finished with six strikeouts before retiring for the night.

Flashing Leather • Leading off the eighth, the Grizzlies' Matt Duffy hit a deep ball to right center field that approached the wall. Center fielder Rafael Ortega ran it down and robbed the hit, potentially saving another score.

Angel Angle • Left-handed pitcher Tyler Skaggs started at the mound for the Bees on Saturday night. Skaggs was assigned to pitch five innings as part of his injury rehabilitation.

Recent Futures Game selection and current Bees ace Nate Smith has also reportedly worked his way up to the depth, chart according to Angels Manager Mike Scioscia.

History Lesson • July 2, 1995: LaTroy Hawkins tosses a complete game shutout, as the Buzz win 8-0 at Tacoma. Hawkins allowed just three hits with four strikeouts and three walks. Riccardo Ingram led the offensive attack with four hits and three runs batted in.

Quotable • Skaggs on getting assigned to Triple-A and playing hot Grizzlies team: "It's a lot different, especially with this team being pretty hot right now. They're swinging at everything right now, they swing at a lot of first pitches. It's tough to get in a groove."
