Logan • Utah State will play home games against New Jersey Institute of Technology and Idaho State as part of the 2016 Cancun Challenge, it was announced Thursday.

NJIT visits the Spectrum on Nov. 14. The Bengals play at Utah State in Nov. 19.

In Mexico, Utah State is scheduled to play in the Riviera Division of the Cancun Challenge, along with Texas Tech, Auburn and Purdue. The Aggies face the Boilermakers on Nov. 22 before meeting Texas Tech or Auburn on Nov. 23.

The Mayan Division of the tournament will include Eastern Kentucky, Georgia State, NJIT and Idaho State.

NJIT has reached the semifinals of the College Invitational Tournament in each of the last two post-seasons. It lost to Northern Arizona (68-61) in 2015 and Columbia (80-65) last spring. In 2014, NJIT scored the biggest win in school history by upsetting Michigan, 72-70, in Ann Arbor.

Neighboring Idaho State is a semi-regular on Utah State's schedule. The Aggies have won 16 straight games over the Bengals going back to 1982-83.

In other news, Utah State coach Tim Duryea confirmed this week that four players have left the program.

The group includes grad transfer Lew Evans, sophomore center Elston Jones, sophomore guard Henry Bolton and freshman wing John Middleton.

Evans will play next season at Tennessee. Bolton has transferred to Division II South Carolina-Aiken. Middleton has moved on to Valparaiso. Jones has not announced where he will continue his career.
