Cambrie Hazel

Analysis • "The way we put it is her job is to keep us in the game until we can get our bats going, and she does that exceptionally well. With her pitching, we're never out of a game. If we're not hitting like we should, we're still in that game. I can't tell you how important that is, to be able to have an off-day hitting and still be in the game is a big plus, and that's what Cambrie does for us. She keeps us in every game."

Ashlyn Visser

Analysis • "Ashlyn Visser is a very talented player on and off the field. She is natural leader. She is a place hitter and knows where to hit the ball to score the runners on base. She is also a amazing catcher; she has a great arm, a good blocker and helping the pitchers when they are struggling. She will be missed by all of her teammates and coaches."

Stefani Zimmerman

Analysis • "Stefani was an integral part of the success the Pioneers had on the field this season, not only on offense, but also from the circle. She improved in every offensive and pitching category from her 2015 campaign. We set a goal in the preseason to limit her free passes. She did that in cutting her walks and hit by pitches in half. As a power hitter, she only struck out an incredible five times all season."

Breah Ava

Analysis • "Breah Ava has developed into a very good softball player with the best yet to come. An early verbal commit to BYU, she continues to strengthen her game at the plate and develop into a solid infielder. Breah doesn't like attention and rather would defer it to her teammates, but make no mistake about it — she is, in every word, a true competitor."

Analysis • "Jordyn Bate has the quickest bat I have ever seen on a girl. Quickest I've ever coached. In fact, it's kind of scary. Even me standing behind a screen throwing through a hole, there's times I don't think she's swinging and she will. It's just a quick bat; good eye."

Mikaela Cox

Analysis • "Being a four-year starter, Mikaela's leadership was vital for our young team this year. Her ability to lift her teammates' playing abilities, as well as her knowledge and understanding of the game are just a couple of the many things the team benefited from. Her presence on the field offensively was hard for teams to defend. In addition, Mikaela's quickness defensively made our team's defense extremely strong. But the one trait that impressed me most as her coach was the respect she has for all of her teammates, as well as the opposing teams we played. Her discipline and dedication to whatever she currently works on will bring her much success in her life."

Brenna Hinck

Analysis • "I actually think we probably wouldn't have won state if we hadn't had leadership with the seniors, in particular with Brenna. They held the team together. [Brenna] is highly motivated. She wants to be the very best that she can be and she works hard to accomplish it. She's not satisfied with being average. It's everything in her life. It's the type of person she is. She takes a lot of pride in accomplishing the things she thinks are important in life."

Brooke Brown

Analysis • "Brooke Brown is such a special athlete. She had an amazing year for us. I cannot say enough good about this special girl. She really hit the ball well this year, and led the team in RBI. She set a new school record by hitting nine home runs in a season. She had three in just one game. I will never forget that. It was one of those moments that brought tears to my eyes, as my mind realized I was watching a superstar make history."

Brielle Chisholm

Analysis • "I think the style of her play, everywhere we went, their coach was saying, 'Can I have one of her?' Everything she did. She was dirty, she was diving at balls, she wasn't taking anything. She wasn't satisfied with a little lift over, she wanted line drives hard over the fence. She was hardcore, all-out girl. She was fun."

Analysis • "She worked hard; really, really hard worker. She'll put in the extra work above and beyond what we do at practice. She's pretty driven, as far as she wants to play college ball, and she'll go on and do that."

How the All-Tribune Team was chosen

Tribune and TribPreps staff used personal observations, analysis of season statistics, and input from coaches throughout the state to select an All-Tribune MVP and an additional 10-member All-Tribune Team. These players were selected from throughout the state and regardless of classification.

Prep softball: All-Tribune Team
