Todd Cunningham went 4-for-5 with two RBIs on Monday night, leading Salt Lake to a 14-3 victory over Memphis. In front of 5,191 fans at Smith's Ballpark, the Bees pounded out 21 hits, including a season-high eight doubles.

Turning Point • Salt Lake took quick command by bunching six hits and scoring five runs in the first inning. Jefry Marte had a two-run double. Three more runs scored when Memphis left fielder Charlie Tilson lost two fly balls in the sun.

Bees MVP • Salt Lake starter Nate Smith made the early lead stand up with six solid innings. He allowed two runs on seven hits. He threw 100 pitches, including 62 strikes, and improved his record to 3-1 with his first win since April 22.

Hidden Hero • After Cunningham led off Salt Lake's big first inning with a base hit, Ji-Man Choi beat a severe shift by the Memphis infield. He went the other way with a fastball and lined a single to left field. Choi ended up going 3-for-5.

Flashing Leather • Leading off the second inning, the Redbirds' Jonathan Rodriguez hit a line drive that was headed for the left-field corner. But Salt Lake third baseman Kaleb Cowart made a leaping catch.

Angel Angle • Former Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum, signed by the Angels on Friday, has been added to the Bees' roster. But he is not expected to pitch in Triple-A until next week, after Salt Lake leaves on a 12-game road trip.

Quoteworthy • Asked why the Angels signed Lincecum, manager Mike Scioscia said, "You can't get through a whole season with five [starters] and right now we're pretty thin."

HISTORY LESSON • On May 23, 2002, Rob Quinlan hit a three-run homer and Salt Lake scored six times in the top of the 12th inning en route to an 8-2 victory at Nashville.

What's next • Tuesday: Memphis (Jeremy Hefner, 2-2) vs. Salt Lake (Kyle McGowin, 1-1), 6:35 p.m., TV: none, Radio: 1280 AM, 97.5 FM. —
