Logan • Diogo Brito, a 6-foor-5 guard from Mountain Mission (Va.) High School, has signed a letter-of-intent with Utah State, according to coach Tim Duryea.

Brito has played on Portugal's national teams since 2012. Last season, he averaged 17.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 3.1 assists during the European Under-18 Championships. He scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds against Sweden.

"Diogo is a very skilled offensive player and understands the pick-and-roll offense very well," Duryea said. "He's a good passer with good range. We are really impressed with his all-around offensive game. He has a great deal of international experience and we are excited to add an athlete of his caliber."

Brito, who will have four years of eligibility at Utah State, is the seventh player who has signed with the Aggies in 2016.

The group includes two other guards: Koby McEwen of Wasatch Academy and Sam Merrill of Bountiful, who is coming off an LDS Church mission.

Utah State's four front court recruits are all at least 6-foot-8, including Norbert Janicek of Snow College, Klay Stall of Basha (Ariz.) High School, Daron Henson of Cathedral (Calif.) High School and Ngor Barnaba of Missouri State-West Plains Junior College.
