Pullman, Wash. • Dallas Carroll went 3-for-4 with a home run, Cody Scaggari was 2-for-5 with three RBIs and DaShawn Keirsey Jr. was 2-for-5 with two RBIs as the Utah baseball team defeated Washington State 11-5 Sunday.

The Utes (17-24, 12-8 Pac-12) led just 6-5 after six innings but scored once in the seventh, once in the eighth and three times in the ninth against the Cougars (15-26, 8-15).

Utah Valley 3, Sacramento State 2 • In Sacramento, Calif., the Wolverines hit three solo homers in the sixth inning and Jake Mayer (7-1) pitched 72⁄3 innings as UVU (28-19, 13-8) moved into a tie with the Hornets (26-21, 13-8) for third place in the WAC with six games to go.

The Wolverines trailed 1-0 before home runs from Zac Willis, Greyson Bogden an d Craig Brinkerhoff.
