Jett Bandy doubled home the go-ahead runs in the seventh inning Saturday night, powering Salt Lake to a 5-3 victory over Reno. In front of 7,614 fans at Smith's Ballpark, the Bees rallied from a 3-1 deficit.

Turning point • With two out and Nick Buss on second base in a tie game, the Aces intentionally walked Kaleb Cowart to get to Bandy. But he followed with a drive into the left field corner.

Bees' MVP • After managing three hits in his previous 15 at-bats, Bandy broke out of his mini-slump. He went 2-for-4 and finished with three RBIs. "Chasing a few too many pitches lately," he said.

Hidden hero • Todd Cunningham's perfect sacrifice was a key to Salt Lake's four-run seventh. He bunted Gregorio Petit and Rafael Oretga into scoring position, just before Buss' bases-clearing double.

Flashing leather • With two out and two runners aboard in the eighth, Reno's Jack Reinheimer hit a line drive up the middle. But Cowart made a spectacular diving catch near second base to end the threat.

Quoteworthy • Asked if a player is motivated when he follows an intentional walk, Bandy said, "Oh, maybe a little bit. It's part of the game, but maybe it makes you want to get a clutch hit that much more."

Angel angle • In his first game since being sent back to Salt Lake by the Angels, Ortega went 1-for-3 with two walks. During a three-week stretch in Los Angeles, he hit .294 with four RBIs.

History lesson • On May 7, 1996, Juan Tolentino had four hits and four RBIs during Salt Lake's 18-3 win over Memphis. The Redbirds' starting pitcher was future NFL quarterback Chad Hutchinson.
