Dalton Carroll pitched a complete-game, Cody Scaggari tied the school record for triples in a game with two, and the Utah baseball team defeated visiting UCLA 9-4 Saturday to win its fourth Pac-12 series this season.

Utah's victory, combined with Washington's 7-1 loss to California, leaves the Utes (16-22, 11-6) alone atop the Pac-12 standings.

The Bruins (19-21, 9-11) held leads of 2-0 and 4-2 before the Utes took their first lead of the game with a three-run fifth inning. Utah had five-straight hits to lead off the inning, including an RBI triple from Scaggari.

Scaggari finished 3-for-5 and Kellen Marruffo went 3-for-4 at the plate. Dallas Carroll and Josh Rose each hit a two-run home run and finished with three RBIs.

Dalton Carroll (4-5) allowed four runs on five hits with five strikeouts and four walks.

BYU 5, Gonzaga 4 • In Provo, the the Cougars (30-10, 12-6 WCC) scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth for a dramatic victory over the Bulldogs (25-15, 13-8).

BYU, ranked 30th in the nation, won two of the three games in the series between West Coast Conference title contenders.

Bronson Larsen's sacrifice fly to center scored Eric Urry for the winning run, giving the Cougars 13 come-from-behind victories this season.

Utah Valley 11, CS Bakersfield 5 • In Orem, the Wolverines gave up four runs in the top of the first but then took control to improve to 24-18 overall and 10-7 in the WAC.

Concordia 5-2, Dixie State 4-9 • In Irvine, Calif., the Trailblazers (37-12, 25-10) defeated the Eagles (21-28, 17-18 in the second game of a PacWest doubleheader to set a school record for victories in a season.

SLCC 9-13, Colorado NW 4-2 • In Meeker, Colo., the Bruins swept a doubleheader to improve to 25-25, 16-19.

Softball

BYU 8, Pacific 4 • In Stockton, Calif., the Cougars (30-17, 7-2 West Coast Conference) completed a series sweep of the Tigers (19-25, 2-10).

Ashley Thompson and Alexa Strid each had three RBIs, while Lauren Bell went 3 for 5 with two runs scored.

Weber State 4, Sacramento State 3 (14 inn) • In Ogden, Aubrey Whitmer hit a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 14th inning, and the Wildcats (33-15, 14-3 Big Sky) moved within one win of securing the conference's regular-season title.

Seattle 8, Utah Valley 3 • In Orem, the Wolverines (7-38, 3-12) lost their WAC season finale and dropped into a tie for fifth with the Redhawks (17-31, 3-12). Breezy Roth went 3-for-3, with an RBI triple, to lead UVU.

Concordia 8-6, Dixie State 5-9 • After completing Friday's game that was postponed in the sixth inning due to rain, the Trailblazers (35-12, 23-7 PacWest) used an 8-run second inning to defeat the Eagles in the second game. Dixie State's Janessa Bassett was a combined 5-for-8 with three RBIs, two doubles, a homer and three runs scored.

SLCC 8-12, Colorado NW 0-4 • In Taylorsville, the Bruins wrapped up their regular season by sweeping a pair of games that went five innings each.

Track and field

Utah at Drake Relays • In des Moines, Iowa, the Utah women's distance medley relay team clocked the fastest time in the country and set a school record as the Utes won only their second championship in the 107-year history of the Drake Relays.

Andrea Chavez ran the first leg (1,200 meters) and was followed by Alissa Atisme (400), Ali Eisenbeiss (800) and Sarah Feeny (1,600) as the Utes finished in 11:12.10.

Men's golf

SUU at Big Sky championships • The Thunderbirds shot a 298 on Day 2 of the championships at Boulder City, Nev., and are in seventh place with a 594 total. Cedric Young leads Southern Utah, with Saturday's 71 giving him a 148 that was good for a tie for 18th place individually.
