Indianapolis • The Indianapolis Colts filled one big need by selecting center Ryan Kelly with the No. 18 overall pick in this year's NFL draft.

The 6-foot-4, 311-pound Alabama product was considered the best center in the draft and solidifies a key position for Indy, which has used five starting centers in the first four years of Andrew Luck's career.

Indy went into the draft looking to rebuild the offensive line after Luck missed nine games because of an assortment of injuries. Additional injuries forced Indy to use five different quarterbacks during the season.

Kelly was a three-year starter for the Crimson Tide and won the Rimington Award last season, which recognizes the best center in the nation.
