Eight straight batters reached base during an eight-run fourth Tuesday night, leading El Paso to a 9-0 win over Salt Lake at Smiths Ballpark. The Chihuahuas' Hunter Renfroe doubled, tripled and had two RBIs during the decisive inning. The game was called after 5 1/2 innings because of rain.

Turning Point • The Bees squandered scoring chances in each of the first three innings, when they had four hits, including a double. Two batters also walked. But Salt Lake hit into two double plays and stranded four base runners.

Bees MVP • Outfielder Quintin Berry went 2-for-2 with a pair of singles. He ended up 5-for-12 and a walk in the series against El Paso. He also drove in a run and stole a base.

Hidden Hero • Mother Nature, who mercifully ended the lopsided game with a downpour that struck in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Flashing Leather • With a runner on second and two outs in the third, Salt Lake right fielder Nick Buss made a running catch on Carlos Asuaje's fly ball to the warning track to retire the side and prevent a run.

ANGEL ANGLE • Now 13-7, the Bees have already clinched their first winning April since since 2012, when current Angels Mike Trout, Kole Calhoun and Garrett Richards led them to a 14-11 record.

HISTORY LESON • On April 26, 1997, Travis Miller and Keith Linebarger combined on a three-hitter and Jamie Ogden doubled home two runs in the third inning as the Salt Lake Buzz defeated Phoenix, 3-0.

What's next • Wednesday: Off. Thursday: The Bees will open a series against the visiting Sacramento River Cats. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. —
