With only four points in the first half, sophomore center Jakob Poeltl's recent hot streak seemed in jeopardy against UCLA's physical frontcourt.

But the future NBA lottery pick muscled his way back in the second half, not only reaching the double-digit mark in his 10th straight game, but also getting his 11th double-double of the season in Utah's 75-73 win.

He finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds, including six offensive boards. He also had two assists and a block.

Poeltl moved up to No. 7 on ESPN's top 2016 NBA prospects list this weekend, and also places at No. 7 on NBA Draft Express' board. While not sinking a bucket for the last 7:41 of the game, he looked solid against one of the bigger lineups he's faced this year with 6-foot-9 Tony Parker and 7-footer Thomas Welsh.

Welsh had 10 points, while Parker was held to four points.

Connor out for year

Utah redshirt freshman walk-on guard Jake Connor is not expected to play again this year due to concerns over concussions.

The son of Utah assistant Tommy Connor, the Highland alum has been a little-used player in games but a role player on the scouting unit. He's appeared in six games this year — all blowouts — and scored in five of those appearances.

Connor did not travel with the team this weekend, and neither did junior guard Kenneth Ogbe, who has now missed 19 straight games.

Briefly

Calling the game for ESPN2 was UCLA great Bill Walton, the colorful commentator who was a three-time national player of the year for the Bruins between 1972 and 1974. It was Utah's second straight game with Walton on the sideline. … UCLA football coach Jim Mora was a spectator at the game.
