Dallas • Tyler Seguin scored twice during a four-goal second period and the Dallas Stars held off the Washington Capitals 4-3 in a battle between two of the NHL's top teams.
Washington leads the Eastern Conference, and Dallas began the night one point behind Chicago for the Western Conference lead.
Seguin has 30 goals this season. Jamie Benn scored his 29th, and rookie Mattias Janmark started the scoring with his 11th.
Alex Ovechkin, Justin Williams and Andre Burakovsky scored for Washington in the third period. Ovechkin's league-leading 35th came on the power play.
Capitals goalie Braden Holtby lost in regulation for just the second time since Nov. 12. Philipp Grubauer replaced Holtby in the third period and made 10 saves. Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen stopped 20 shots. Holtby had 21 saves.
Two of Washington's 10 regulation losses this season were against the Stars, who have won nine straight against the Capitals dating to Nov. 25, 2008.
Ducks 3, Blackhawks 2, OT • In Chicago, Ryan Getzlaf scored a power-play goal at 2:16 of overtime, lifting Anaheim to a victory.
Bruins 4, Wild 2 • In St. Paul, Minn., David Krejci broke a tie in the second period and Jonas Gustavsson made 31 saves to help Boston beat Minnesota.
Devils 2, Flyers 1, OT • In Philadelphia, Adam Henrique scored on a power play 2:58 into overtime to lift New Jersey past Philadelphia.
Hurricanes 6, Islanders 3 • In Raleigh, N.C., Andrej Nestrasil and Victor Rask scored two goals apiece to help Carolina beat New York. Riley Nash and Kris Versteeg also scored for Carolina, which was celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its 2006 Stanley Cup season. Jordan Staal and Phillip Di Giuseppe each had two assists.
Maple Leafs 5, Canucks 2 • In Vancouver, British Columbia, Mark Arcobello scored his first two goals of the season 17 seconds apart, Brendan Leipsic got his first NHL goal in his first game and Toronto ended a three-game skid.
Predators 5, Panthers 0 • In Sunrise, Fla., backup goaltender Carter Hutton made 22 saves and Calle Jarnkrok scored twice to lead Nashville.
Blue Jackets 4, Senators 2 • In Columbus, Ohio, Boone Jenner scored twice, Cam Atkinson and Brandon Saad each had goals and last-place Columbus won for the fourth time in five games.
