Ben Patch had 16 kills and Jake Langlois added 13 as third-ranked BYU (7-2, 5-2 MPFS) rolled to a 25-20, 25-16, 26-24 sweep of 10th-ranked UC Santa Barbara (8-4, 4-3) in a men's volleyball match Friday in Provo.

BYU outhit the Gauchos .330 to .165.

Gymnastics

No. 9 Boise State 196.250, No. 25 Southern Utah 195. 700 • In Cedar City, the Thunderbirds' Stacie Webb tied for first in two events: on the balance beam (9.900) with teammate Danielle Ramirez and in the floor exercise (9.850) with teammate Virginia Brownsell. Southern Utah's Kirsten Yee tied for first on the uneven parallel bars (9.875).

Women's basketball

Westminster 75, New Mexico Highlands 68 • In Las Vegas, N.M., the Griffins (8-12, 5-11) scored the final 13 points of the game — including a pair of 3-pointers from Mika Pinner in the final minute — for an RMAC victory over the Cowgirls (3-18, 1-15).

Men's tennis

Utah State 7, Southern Utah 0 • In Logan, Jaime Barajas, Jack Swindells and Romai Ugarte each won his singles match 6-0, 6-0, and the Aggies (4-3) went on to sweep the Thunderbirds (0-2).

Weber State 5, UC Riverside 2 • In Las Vegas, Nev., the Wildcats (1-2) started with a sweep of the doubles matches and went on to defeat the Highlanders (1-6). The No. 1 doubles team of Stafan Cooper and Sanjay Goswami rallied from a 5-2 deficit for a 7-6 (6) victory.

Wrestling

South Dakota State 28, Utah Valley 13 • In Orem, the Wolverines (3-7, 0-1 Big 12) got victories from Chasen Tolbert (125 pounds), Jade Rauser (133) and Dustin Dennison (heavyweight) but fell to the Jackrabbits (11-5, 4-1).

Softball

No. 13 Humboldt State 4, No. 2 Dixie State 1 • In St. George, the Red Storm dropped their season opener, falling to the visiting Lumberjacks in the Dixie State tournament.
