Weber State's Joel Bolomboy has been named the Big Sky Conference men's basketball Player of the Week after leading the Wildcats to a win over South Dakota State last Tuesday.

The Fort Worth native scored 22 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Weber State to a 99-95 win over South Dakota State in the Wildcats' only game last week.

The senior went 7-of-11 from the field in the win and hit 7-of-10 from the free-throw line. He also added two blocked shots in the win.

On the season, Bolomboy is tied for first in the nation with 11 double-doubles in the 12 games. He is averaging 17.5 points per game and ranks fourth in the nation in rebounding at 12.8 per game. He is also sixth in the Big Sky in field goal percentage at 58.2 percent.

Bolomboy continues to move up the career record lists at Weber State. Entering Monday's game he needs 94 more rebounds to pass Willie Sojourner as Weber State's career leader and needs 98 more rebounds to become the Big Sky's all-time leader.

Weber State closes out the non-conference portion of the season tonight against Multnomah at 7 p.m. The Wildcats begin conference play Saturday, January 2 hosting Idaho State.
