The Seattle Seahawks placed rookie running back Thomas Rawls on injured reserve Tuesday and re-signed Bryce Brown to bolster a depleted running back group.

Rawls, who has been starting in place of the injured Marshawn Lynch, broke his ankle and suffered ligament damage during the Seahawks' 35-6 win over Baltimore on Sunday.

Rawls finishes the season with 830 yards rushing. He had four games of more than 100 yards, including a Seahawks rookie-record 209-yard performance against San Francisco.

Brown has had two brief stints with Seattle this season but he was inactive for his only two games with the team.

A seventh-round pick by Philadelphia in 2012, Brown has rushed for 1,004 yards and six touchdowns in an NFL career that has also included a stint with Buffalo.
