Cedar City • Christian Thompson had a career-high 16 points, Trey Kennedy scored 14 and Race Parsons added 12 points and 11 rebounds as Southern Utah rolled past Bristol University 79-41 on Saturday.

The Thunderbirds made 62.5 percent of their first-half field goal attempts while holding Bristol (0-8) to just 10 percent (3-of-30) on the way to a 40-8 lead at the break.

Thompson was 3-of-5 on 3-pointers and 5-of-8 overall.

Michael Johnson had 11 points and eight rebounds for Bristol, who finished 14 of 65 (21.5 percent) from the field.

The Thunderbirds (3-5) have won three games in a row.

Utah Valley 100, Idaho State 76 • In Pocatello, Idaho, Konner Frey scored 19 points and led six players in double figures as the Wolverines (4-6) beat the Bengals (3-5).

Frey also had nine rebounds, Hayden Schenck added 18 points and Jaden Jackson, Ivory Young and Marcel Davis scored 14 points apiece.

UC Colorado Springs 81, Westminster 68 • In Salt Lake City, Zerrion Payton scored 16 points to lead three Griffins in double figures but the Mountain Lions (5-2, 2-1 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) handed Westminster (6-1, 2-1) its first loss.

SLCC 89, USU-Eastern 63 • In Taylorsville, the Bruins routed the Golden Eagles to improve to 13-1 overall and 2-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play. SLCC was led by Tyler Rawson who had a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Women's basketball

Weber State 61, Utah Valley 56 • In Ogden, the Wildcats used a late 11-0 run to take a 58-53 lead with 42 seconds left after the Wolverines had built a six-point lead with 4:03 remaining. Regina Okoye had a game-high 24 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Weber State (7-2), and Jocelyn Adams added 13 rebounds. Sam Loggins tied her career high with 21 points for Utah Valley (6-3) and Rhaiah Spooner-Knight added 14.

Southern Utah 75, Air Force 56 • In Cedar City, Jessica Richardson and Breanu Reid each scored 17 points to lead the Thunderbirds (2-7) over the Falcons (0-9). Richardson scored all of her points in the first half, as Southern Utah led 41-24 at the break.

Northern Arizona 68, Dixie State 66 • In Flagstaff, Ariz., the Red Storm trailed the Lumberjacks (4-5) by 17 points at the half before roaring back. Taylor Mann's layup with 44 seconds left got Dixie State to within two, but Leslie Tademy's jumper at the buzzer missed. Mann and Chermayne Moore each had 16 points to lead the Red Storm (1-7) and Tademy added 12.

UC Colorado Springs 69, Westminster 58 • In Salt Lake City, Denise Gonzalez led Westminster with 15 points and nine rebounds and Mika Pinner added 14 points, seven rebounds and three blocks but the Griffins (4-3, 1-2 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) couldn't hold off the Mountain Lions (6-3, 2-1), who took over with a 19-6 run in the third quarter.

SLCC 74, USU-Eastern 46 • In Taylorsville, Monique Mills had team highs of 24 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and four steals and the Bruins remained perfect on the season, improving to 15-0 overall and 2-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play. The Bruins forced 23 turnovers and held the Golden Eagles to 25-percent shooting.

Indoor track

Utah women at Jackson's Open • In Nampa, Idaho, the Utes won four events, including a 1-2-3 sweep in the 400 meters, which was won by junior Rhianna Williams with a time of 57.14 seconds. Senior Allison Aafedt won the 500 for the Utes in 1:18.66. Also winning for Utah was junior Makenzie Clark in the 800 (2:18.92). The 4x400 relay team of Mesa Weidle, Williams, Ali Eisenbeiss and Aafedt finished in 3:53.53, five seconds ahead of the second-place team.
