In anticipation of the new "Star Wars" film set to premiere, the Utah Grizzlies donned gold C3PO jerseys to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and several fans in attendance participated in the fun, decked out in attire of their favorite characters.

Utah wouldn't disappoint the 5,522 patrons in attendance, defeating the Alaska Aces 4-2.

The visitors will be eager to avoid the Grizzlies for some time, as Utah beat Alaska for the 10th straight time, dating to last season.

With the question undecided as to which team would channel the force entering the third period and the game level at 2, the Grizzlies took advantage of a power play as Roberts Lipsbergs launched a shot from the blue line to make it 3-2.

Two minutes later, Matt Berry continued his torrid scoring pace, scoring his second goal of the night, this time short-handed past diving Aces goaltender Steven Summerhays. The rookie has scored in 17 of 19 games this season with 11 goals and 11 assists.

"What makes Matt so successful is he is so fast, quick and agile and he has a great work ethic," Utah coach Tim Branham said. "When he is moving his feet he is extremely difficult to defend."

Barry Almeida began the scoring for the Grizzlies on a nifty backhand top-shelf shot to make it 1-0.

Ten minutes later, Berry found the puck and plenty of open ice in front of him, scoring on a breakaway to give Utah a two-goal advantage. Alaska would get on the board to reduce the deficit to one as Taran Kozun allowed a rebound, resulting in Stephen Perfetto scoring easily into the exposed net.

In the second period, a Utah penalty on forward Alex Krushelynski would prove costly as Tim Coffman's shot got past the right toe of Kozun to level the contest at 2. Coffman has provided the majority of the Aces offense, registering his third goal in the past two games. —
