Orem • Tyler Hall had 25 points and 10 rebounds to help Montana State beat Utah Valley 76-72 on Tuesday night in the Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge.

Marcus Colbert capped a Montana State 8-0 run with a turnaround jumper for a 72-66 lead. Konner Frey answered with a 3-pointer from the top of the key. The Bobcats' Danny Robison missed two free throws and Utah Valley's Hayden Schenck converted a 3-point play, with the aid of a lane violation, to tie it at 72.

Hall's tip-in, after two Montana State misses, gave the Bobcats a 74-72 lead and Schenck was called for a charge on the Wolverines' next possession. Montana State grabbed two more offensive rebounds on its next trip and Quinton Everett hit 2 of 4 free throws down the stretch.

Frey led Utah Valley (2-5) with 26 points.

Women's basketball

Northern Colorado 74, Utah State 60 • At Greeley, Colo, Funda Nakkasoglu had 25 points, her third 20-point game of the season, despite the Aggies falling to 2-3 overall. Freshman Katie Toole had her first double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Southern Utah 67, Cal State Northridge 65 • At Cedar City, Jessica Richardson had 16 points and nine rebounds, and Taylor Baird and Breanu Reid both scored 12 points for the Thunderbirds (1-6).
