Provo • A year after making it all the way to the championship match as an unseeded team, BYU received a No. 13 seed in the 2015 NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament on Sunday.

Getting seeded means the Cougars will host first- and second-round matches on Friday and Saturday at Smith Fieldhouse in Provo.

The No. 11-ranked Cougars (26-3) will meet Ohio (25-7), champions of the Mid-American Conference, at 7 p.m. on Friday. Arizona (19-13 and Western Kentucky (31-3) will tangle in Friday's other first-round match in Provo.

Winners of Friday's matches will play on Saturday for the right to advance in the Lexington (Ky.) Regional, Dec. 11-12.

Big Ten champion Nebraska (26-4) is the No. 4 seed in the regional and will also be a first-round host. Harvard, Wichita State and Kansas State will also compete in Lincoln hoping to advance to Lexington.

The other three top seeds are Minnesota (26-4), Southern Cal (30-2) and Texas (25-2). BYU lost in three sets to USC earlier this season and defeated Texas in the national semifinals last year.

The West Coast Conference's San Diego and Loyola Marymount made the tournament as at-large selections.

Television broadcast plans will be announced later this week. —
