Seattle • Utah's 34 points are the most any team has scored against Washington this season.

So there's that.

But then there's Utah's stretch of drives between the final few minutes of the second quarter and midway through the fourth: turnover on downs, punt, fumble, punt, interception.

With the Utes holding a 24-23 lead in the fourth quarter, things were trending Washington's way until a questionable — or at least, very loudly questioned — pass interference call went against the Huskies, and Utah's offense came to life.

The Utes then rushed nine straight times, reminiscent of the series they opened with last Saturday against Oregon State: Wilson for 2 — with a lateral to Bubba Poole for 7 more — and then Booker, Wilson, Booker, Booker, Booker, Booker and Booker, good for 60 yards, 3:27 off the clock and a 31-23 Utah advantage.

That'd do it.

But prior to that, Utah had to survive three turnovers and another extended lapse — albeit against the conference's best defense.

Travis Wilson finished 12 of 25 with 155 yards — his lowest total in a complete game this season — and threw a deep pass down the right sideline that was picked off and returned 35 yards by Husky corner Sidney Jones.

Wilson also fumbled a snap, recovered by UW outside linebacker Travis Feeney, and Devontae Booker uncharacteristically coughed it up, forced by Taniela Tupou and recovered by Keishawn Bierra.

It was the fourth game this season in which Utah turned it over three or more times — including Utah's only loss, a four-interception effort against USC.

But Utah was not punished.

The Huskies came away with just three points.

And after Utah had been outscored 59-27 in the middle two quarters of its previous three games, they endured another prolonged midgame drought.

Next week, against Arizona, they may require more of a wire-to-wire effort. Utah's four turnovers cost them dearly in last years 42-10 rout.
