Ogden • Coach Jay Hill is still convinced Weber State is improved this season.

The Wildcats' next chance to prove him right comes Saturday night, when they play host to Sacramento State. Because of the Big Sky Conference's unbalanced schedule, the game between the league rivals will not count in the standings.

Weber State is 0-2 so far, after road losses at Oregon State and North Dakota State. The Wildcats were in the game against the Beavers until the fourth quarter, but the Bison dominated.

After the teams played to a 7-7 tie at the end of the first quarter, North Dakota State quickly took control of the game. The Bison finished with 27 first downs and 586 total yards. They rushed for 305 yards and built a 28-7 halftime lead.

"They got us on our heels in the second quarter," Hill said. "We played a little better after that but the damage was done. … They looked like the four-time national champion against us."

Looking ahead to Sacramento State, Hill said, "Football is all about confidence and getting off on the right foot. I really believe we have enough ability to win games. We just need to get something good happen for us so we can get some mojo."
