Fargo, N.D. • Carson Wentz threw for three touchdowns and ran for another and North Dakota State beat Weber State 41-14 on Saturday.

Wentz scored on a 27-yard run before Jadrian Clark and Cam Livingston combined on a 68-yard pass play to tie the game in the first quarter. But Wentz threw touchdown passes of 55 and 47 yards to Chase Morlock and then a 23-yarder to Zach Vraa to go up 28-7 at halftime.

The Bison (1-1) had 407 yards of offense by halftime and finished with 586.

Morlock finished with 136 yards receiving on seven catches and added 76 yards rushing.

The four-time defending FCS champion Bison won their 24th straight home game. They were coming off a loss at Montana in their season opener.

"We were outplayed in this one and you have to give North Dakota State credit," Weber State coach Jay Hill said. "They were effective in all aspects of the game and really ran the ball well. We have to practice and play better and put ourselves in a position to play better. We still have a chance to be a good team."

The Wildcats (0-2) also scored on a 100-yard kickoff return by Eric Wilkes.

Weber State quarterback Clark went 9-of-23 passing for 123 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while Livingston had five catches for 98 yards with the one touchdown.

After two road games, the Wildcats return to Ogden for the home opener next Saturday against Sacramento State in a non-conference game.

Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
