Judge Memorial receiver Xavier Price had his future in mind when he committed to the Air Force Academy on Wednesday afternoon.

"Big part for me was the education that I would receive there and the fact that I would have a chance to serve this country," Price told The Tribune. "It was just the right situation for me — where they're at with the program, the type of players they have there, it's where I belong, I feel."

Price (6-foot-3, 195 pounds) maintained committable offers from Idaho, Weber State, Southern Utah, Northern Arizona, Dartmouth and Cornell in addition to Air Force. He intends on studying finance at Air Force with ambitions of obtaining employment in money management post-graduation.

Price led the Bulldogs, who captured their second straight Class 3A title in 2014, with 10 receptions for 365 yards and seven touchdowns. The production might seem relatively low for a Division I prospect, but Judge operates from the flexbone option on offense, limiting the amount of touches Price received through the air.

"I would describe myself as a deep threat," Price said when asked to describe his game. "Explosive. I have a long stride that a lot of people misjudge my speed because of how long my legs are."

The Bulldogs open the 2015 season at Pine View on Aug. 21 to complete the transition from Class 3A to 3AA.

"I'm really excited," Price said. "The whole team and community is excited about this jump. We really feel like we're going to surprise a lot of people. We're known to be a small school that produces a few college talents here and there, but we're really going to put Judge on the map this year."
