It hardly qualifies as news that Stanford won another Division I Learfield Sports Directors' Cup for all-around athletic success. After all, the Cardinal have won 21 consecutive titles. The most significant development in 2014-15 is that UCLA and USC helped the Pac-12 sweep the top three spots for the first time in history.  UCLA finished second for the seventh time, but the first time since 2008. USC's third-place finish is the Trojans' best.  The Pac-12 again led the NCAA with nine national championships. The list included Stanford in women's golf and women's water polo, UCLA in men's water polo, California in women's swimming, Oregon in men's indoor track and field and both men's and women's outdoor track and field and Colorado in men's cross country and skiing.  Stanford posted 1,148 points to 1,256 for UCLA and 1,209 for USC. Three other Pac-12 schools made the top 25: Cal (12th, 937.25), Oregon (13th, 933.5) and Washington (24th, 756.75). They were followed by Arizona State (30th, 683.3), Arizona (36th, 566.25), Colorado (43rd, 539.5), Utah (56th, 445), Oregon State (65th, 334.25) and Washington State (170th, 91).  Points are awarded based on each school's national finishes in up to 20 sports — 10 women's and 10 men's.  – Kurt Kragthorpe
