Super sophomore Shaquille Walker powered the Cougars to their best team track performance since 2001 on Friday afternoon.

Two first-team All American finishes helped the BYU track team finish in 13th place at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Walker's feet helped get them there, as he finished 5th in the 800 meter with a time of 1:49:99. He also ran a leg of the 5th place 4x400 meter relay team that included Mario Harper, Sean Adams and Jesse White.

Steve Flint's 10th place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase rounded out BYU's team performance with a second-team All-America effort.

Flint was bettered by fellow in-state collegian Mike Hardy, who finished 5th in the steeplechase with a time of 8:42.30. He is Weber State's 17th All-American in the steeplechase event.

Oregon won its second straight men's track team title with 85 points. Florida (56 points) finished second and Arkansas (53 points) finished third.
