Dakota Donovan

Pitcher | Pine View | Junior

10-0 W-L | 1.10 ERA 92 strikeouts | 31 hits 30 RBIs | 2 HRs

ANALYSIS • "His consistency throughout the whole season. Anytime a kid throws 10-0 with a couple of saves from the preseason on, obviously it shows what kind of character he has and who he is. On the other side, on the bat, he continually got better. He doesn't do much hitting time in the summer, but throughout the season he kept getting better and better."

—Michael Gargano, Pine View coach.

Sean Keating

Pitcher | Bingham | Junior

10-1 W-L | 2.33 ERA 71 strikeouts | 46 hits 35 RBIs | 10 doubles 5 HRs

Analysis • "He's a mid-80s guy on the mound, and has a decent breaking ball. And as a hitter, as you saw in the state tournament, middle of the order for us. He hit over .400 for us with some home runs. He provided a pretty solid bat. Sean went about his business and worked hard, which is what he does. He had great success."

— Joey Sato, Bingham coach

Payton Henry

Catcher | Pleasant Grove Junior

.527 avg. | 48 hits | 46 RBIs 11 doubles | 9 HRs .991 fielding percentage 1-1 W-L | 13 strikeouts

Analysis • "Rarely did anyone steal on him. That was the key this year. We shut down everyone's running game because in the first game they'd try and run on us, and he'd throw them out. It was so comforting to have him back there. He started all 30 games, and it made it so other teams couldn't run because of his ability to throw guys out."

— Darrin Henry, Pleasant Grove coach

Easton Walker

Infielder/Pitcher Pleasant Grove | Senior

41 hits | 22 RBIs 11 doubles | 5 triples 2 HRs | 8-1 W-L 90 strikeouts

Analysis • "He's unbelievable. He makes so many plays where I had people come to me and say, 'That is only a play I see a college or pro player make.' Easton is that type of athlete. He was rock solid. Whenever he was in the infield, we know that our infield is one of the best in the state because he captained it from that shortstop position."

— Darrin Henry, Pleasant Grove coach

Parker Depasquale

Infielder/Pitcher Bountiful | Senior

9-3 W-L | 1.01 ERA 83 strikeouts | .373 avg. 3 doubles | 5 triples 1 HR | 19 RBIs

Analysis • "The thing that I think about Parker that separates him from a lot of people, is he is very, very crafty. He works really fast, he throws everything from the stretch position, and he has about five or six different pitches he throws for strikes. … He's kind of deceiving in the infield. I played him mostly at second base, but he can play short and he's probably just as good."

— Clark Stringfellow, Bountiful coach

Brecken Lewis

Infield/Pitcher | Cedar | Senior

11-2 W-L | 1.83 ERA 72 strikeouts | .312 avg. 5 doubles | 1 triple | 3 HRs 18 RBIs

Analysis • "On the mound, he had a lot of confidence in himself. He knew he could get anybody out. ... That's a big attribute for a pitcher to have, to have that command. At the plate, he really came on at the end of the season for us. We started him off in the four-hole at the start of the season, and he didn't really take to that spot very well. We moved him in the order, and he took on a role for us as a hitter."

— Eric Fieldsted, Cedar coach

Tyler Zupon

Infielder | Bingham | Senior

.418 avg. | 41 hits | 45 RBIs 7 doubles | 1 triple 10 HRs

Analysis • "He covers the plate. He has power to all fields. He had doubles and triples that went to right center. He's a tough out, and he learned how to compete with two strikes. In fact, there were a number of his home runs that actually came with two strikes. As a hitter, he became more disciplined. If the pitcher left the ball in the zone, and made a mistake, then Tyler took advantage of it."

— Joey Sato, Bingham coach

Brandon Wagstaff

Outfielder | Woods Cross Junior

.485 avg. | 49 hits 40 RBIs | 13 doubles 2 triples | 4 HRs .533 OBP | 10 SB

Analysis • "He always hits it hard. He can barrel it up no matter where the pitch is and no matter what pitch type it is. Typically we tell guys, 'We want you to go after a certain type of pitch.' He was one that we never really had to say, 'Hey, we want you to sit fastball.' That's what made him so tough — you couldn't go after him at a certain location."

— Trevor Amicone, Woods Cross coach

Cooper Smith

Outfielder | Salem Hills | Junior

.423 avg. | 44 hits | 31 RBIs | 8 doubles | 4 triples 5 HRs | 16 SB

Analysis • "He may be one of the fastest guys in the state. In the outfield, he reads the ball as well as anybody. He's got a good arm. To me he's a five-tool player. He's a dual-threat, he can get on base when we need [him] to, or he can hit the ball out of the yard or in the gap for extra-base hits. He's probably most beneficial in the clutch. In big games, he usually comes up with big hits.

—Scott Haney, Salem Hills coach

Jaren Hall

Outfielder | Maple Mountain | Junior

.406 avg. | 39 hits 30 RBIs | 4 doubles 3 triples | 3 HRs .949 fielding percentage

Analysis • "Statistically, it kind of speaks for itself. He ended up hitting about .575 in the state tournament. He was absolutely fantastic. There's a stability factor that makes him great. That's probably his biggest strength, is just that there is so much consistency in his performance and his attitude. That's the difference. Nothing fazes him."
