Several Utah State players are going to get their chances in the NFL as safety Brian Suite signed with the Detroit Lions, B.J. Larsen signed with the Buffalo Bills, offensive lineman Kevin Whimpey signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Zach Vigil signed with the Miami Dolphins.

An underrated player most of his career, Vigil was the rock for the Aggies' defense in 2014. He was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year after finishing with 156 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss and nine sacks.

The linebacker had a career high 22 tackles against Air Force.

Suite, a safety, earned honorable mention all-Mountain West honors as he finished ranked fourth on the team in total tackles with 76 and had nine pass breakups.

Larsen, a Logan native who earned first-team all-Mountain West honors as a defensive end, finished the season with nine sacks, had 13.5 tackles for loss and was 10th on the team with 37 tackles.

Whimpey, an offensive lineman, earned first-team all-Mountain West honors during his senior year when he finished with 64 knockdowns.

The Aggies currently have 17 players on NFL rosters.

Utah State coach Matt Wells believes his players will do well if given a chance to prove themselves.

"They are all hard workers and I am excited to see what kind of opportunities they get," he said. "It says a lot about Utah State that we are graduating our players, winning a high percentage of games and putting a lot of guys in the NFL."
