While it might seem as though basketball, swimming and wrestling state tournaments just ended, the high school spring state tournament season is set to begin this week.
State meets and tournaments mark one of the busiest times on the prep sports calendar. Here is a classification-by-classification listing of the spring-sports state-tournament calendar:
Class 5A
Baseball • May 12 and 13, at home sites; May 18-20 at Kearns; May 21-22 at Utah Valley University (championship)
Boys' soccer • May 12 and 15 at home sites; May 19 semifinals at Woods Cross High School; May 21, state title game at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy
Girls' golf • May 13 and 14 at East Bay Golf Course, Provo
Boys' tennis • May 14 and 16 at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City
Softball • May 12 and 14 at home sites; May 19-21 at Valley Complex in Taylorsville.
Girls' and boys' track • May 15 and 16 at BYU
Class 4A
Baseball • May 12 and 13 at home sites; May 18-22 at Utah Valley University
Boys' soccer • May 13 and 15 at home sites; May 19 semifinals at Woods Cross High School; May 21 finals at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy
