Estero, Fla. • The Weber State men's basketball team is one of eight teams that will participate in the 2015 Gulf Coast Showcase in November.

The Wildcats will join Central Michigan, Drake, Duquesne, Milwaukee, Murray State, Pepperdine and Western Kentucky in the tournament, which will be held Nov. 23-25.

The field was announced Tuesday by promoter Global LLC. The tournament is designed to showcase the top mid-major programs from across the country.

Weber State will play three games at Germain Arena in Estero. The tournament bracket and schedule will be announced later.

This marks the second straight season the Wildcats will participate in a preseason tournament. WSU played in the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands last November.

"We are really looking forward to competing in the Gulf Coast Showcase," said Weber State coach Randy Rahe. "This is one of the premier mid-major tournaments in the country and will be a great opportunity for us to play three games against some very quality competition."

Murray State, which won 25 straight games last season, headlines the tournament. The Racers were ranked as high as No. 24 in the nation and finished with a 29-6 overall record.

This is the third annual Gulf Coast Showcase. Previous winners were Louisiana Tech and Green Bay. Weber State is the first Big Sky team to compete in the tournament.
