Utah State University president Stan Albrecht has been ordered to appear at the Cache County Courthouse on June 5 to testify in a lawsuit brought by the estate of late Penn State coach Joe Paterno against the NCAA.

Albrecht is one of five school presidents who received subpoenas from the Paterno estate, likely owing to his position on the NCAA's executive committee and Division I board of directors when the NCAA delivered sweeping sanctions after serial child sex abuse charges against former Paterno defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.

The NCAA's report condemned Paterno for "a lack of adherence to fundamental notions of individual integrity," and resulting sanctions cost Penn State $60 million and 40 scholarships and Paterno 111 of his career wins. A settlement of another lawsuit in January restored those wins.

Albrecht was first ordered to appear in January. Late last month, Pennsylvania's Centre County court rejected the NCAA's objection to the Paterno estate's subpoenas.

Other university presidents ordered to testify are Hampton's William Harvey, Wake Forest's Nathan Hatch, South Carolina's Harris Pastides and Michigan State's Lou Anna Simon.
