Larry Krystkowiak once said of his senior point guard, "I wouldn't trade him for anybody."

When it comes to point guards, Utah's Delon Wright stands alone at the end of his last season, winning the Bob Cousy Award on Friday night for the nation's best player at the position.

Wright was presented with the honor on ESPN2's national Hoophall Awards broadcast, beating out Duke's Tyus Jones, Arizona's T.J. McConnell, Wichita State's Fred Van Vleet, and Gonzaga's Kevin Pangos.

The AP and NABC All American was a leader for Utah's best season in a decade, helping deliver the team to a Sweet 16 and a 26-9 season and a best-ever second-place finish in the Pac-12. The 6-foot-5 junior college product helped Utah win 47 games over his two-year career.

He led the Utes statistically with 14.5 points, 5.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game, finishing with a conference-best 19.1 efficiency rating. He also was Utah's second-leading rebounder (4.9 rpg) and third-leading shooter (50.9 percent). He got to the line more than any other Utes, shooting 83.6 percent.

For his career, Wright finished with 1022 points, 397 rebounds, 352 assists, 155 steals and 77 blocks in two seasons. He was a two-time first team All-Pac-12 honoree.

Wright is Utah's first-ever Cousy Award winner. The award was founded in the 2003-04 season, and previous winners include Ty Lawson, Greivis Vasquez, Kemba Walker and Trey Burke.
