Ogden • By the time Zac Seljaas' fourth 3-pointer of the first half dropped through the net, the Bountiful forward was already halfway back down the court with his index finger in the air.

Yeah, you could say he was in the zone.

Seljaas scored a game-high 22 points and the defending champion Braves dismantled Orem 67-50 in the Class 4A semifinal Friday night.

"We were all just hitting. We were feeling it," Seljaas said. "We knew we had to get out and do something. We were just feeling it."

The Braves have a chance to be the first team to repeat as 4A state champs since Provo in 2008 when they play surprise finalist Kearns in an all-Region 6 final Saturday.

Bountiful (21-6) has won 18 in a row, few as easy as this one. Hardly a one-man crew, the Braves got 19 points from Jeff Pollard and 17 from Austin Parkinson.

The Braves jumped out to a 30-point halftime lead and never looked back.

"We'd hit one, and the next person would hit one," Seljaas said. "You just get that momentum and that feeling, and you just keep going."

Will Clark scored 11 points — all in the second half — for Orem (20-6), which was looking to make its third final in four years. Instead, the Tigers were on the wrong end of an anti-climactic end to an otherwise thrilling day of tournament games at Weber State.

The BYU-bound Seljaas had 18 points in the first half and raised his tournament average to 23 points. He has been arguably the best player in the 4A tournament through three rounds.

Tuesday, he hit the game-winner at the buzzer to beat Murray in the first round. Friday, he appeared comfortable from five feet or more beyond the arc.

"Zac is special. That kid is a great player," coach Mike Maxwell said. "He's hard to defend, and they had to extend out, which opens it up for other players."

Bountiful will be favored in Saturday's title game, but perhaps not the crowd favorite. Kearns' improbable run has the underdog (and underappreciated?) Cougars in the state title game for the first time in 43 years.

The Braves swept Kearns in region play by an average of 10.5 points, and won 78-72 in their most recent meeting.

"I think this team is firing on all cylinders and they believe in themselves," Maxwell said. "I told them, 'One more time.'

"Tough to beat them three times, but our guys are ready for it." —
