Perhaps Utah High School Activities Association officials ought to just give the Panguitch girls' basketball team its second straight title without the trouble of playing the last two days of the Class 1A tournament at the Sevier Valley Center.

The Bobcats, who opened the tournament with an 87-10 win over Intermountain Christian, blasted Rich 75-32 in Thursday's semifinal game as Darri Frandsen and Whitni Orton each scored 17.

Their opponent will be region rival Valley, which beat Tabiona 45-19 behind 18 points by Heather Roundy and 14 from Britain Heaton.

How big of an underdog will Valley be when the two play their fourth game of the season at 7:30 p.m. Friday?

Panguitch beat the Buffaloes by scores of 58-13, 60-21 and 72-23 in their first three meetings. Since the tournament has turned into an all Region 20 championship semifinals, Panguitch is the prohibitive favorite to win.

Bryce Valley earned the other semifinal by knocking off Monticello 33-24 as Danielle Brinkerhoff scored 11 points.

The Mustangs will meet Piute Friday at 6 p.m. Piute earned a 65-53 win over Duchesne in the nightcap Thursday as Shaylee Gleave hit 22 and Macey Dalton had 19.
