Ogden • Five sites, including Weber State's Dee Events Center, will receive visits by Big Sky Conference officials as the league searches for permanent homes for its men's and women's postseason basketball tournaments.

In the coming weeks, conference officials will visit Billings, Mont. (Rimrock Auto Arena), Missoula, Mont. (Dahlberg Arena), Reno, Nev. (Events Center), Spokane, Wash. (Spokane Arena) and Ogden (Dee Events Center).

Billings and Ogden submitted bids to host the men's tournament. Missoula submitted a bid to host the women's tournament. Reno and Spokane submitted bids to host the men's and women's tournaments.

"All of the bids were outstanding,'" said Big Sky deputy commissioner Ron Loghry. "The committee faced a daunting task of sifting through all of the data and ranking the potential sites. Our next step is to visit these cities and venues. We're excited to begin that process soon."

For more than two decades, the Big Sky Conference men's and women's basketball tournaments have been hosted by the regular-season champion. Last fall, the league began soliciting bids to find predetermined locations for the championships beginning in the spring of 2016.

Big Sky presidents will make the final decision and reserve the right to keep the current championship structure in place. A final decision is expected in April.
