Tucson, Ariz. • Talk about a perfect setup: Kassandra Lopez and Corrie Lothrop go out and tie their career highs on the uneven bars with 9.9 and 9.925, respectively, setting the stage for Georgia Dabritz to get a huge score Saturday against Arizona.

Boy, did the senior phenom deliver.

Dabritz scored a 10.0 on the bars to provide the best of many highlights in the No. 5 Utes' 197.85-196.375 win over No. 18 Arizona Saturday.

It was the third perfect score for Dabritz on the event. She scored one against Florida in March of 2013 and at the Pac-12 Championships last year.

Dabritz nearly pulled off a triple, too, as she scored 9.975s on the floor and vault.

Her meet low was a 9.75 on the balance beam after a bobble, but considering the event is her weakest and she has managed to hit 4-for-4 this season, Dabritz and the Utes weren't going to complain about the score.

The all-around score of 39.7 for Dabritz tied her career high and tied five others for the eighth highest score in Utah's history.

More important to the Utes was Dabritz's performance wasn't alone in being outstanding. Utah's score was the 10th highest in the program's history as the Utes finally had the overall performance coach Greg Marsden has wanted.

"Finally," he exclaimed after the meet. "I told them after warm-ups they were in a really good place and just to stay there. They did a good job all the way through the meet."

Dabritz said she had a feeling her uneven bars score was going to get a high score but wasn't sure it would be a 10.0, especially since the Utes were competing on the road.

"I tried to fix my mistakes from the last weeks and I felt good about it," she said. "What I liked is it wasn't just me, the whole team was feeling good tonight. We've had a good week of practice and it showed."

Dabritz said she still had room for improvement, noting the mistake on the balance beam.

"I still have a lot of work to do," she said.

However, Marsden was a little less critical, noting in the past Dabritz probably wouldn't have fought through the mistake and instead would have come off the beam.

"She is a lot more determined and confident there this year," he said. "It has been a long road for her and a lot of work but it is paying off."

As for Dabritz' other events, Marsden just smiled.

"She couldn't have done those any better," he said. "She was flawless."

Already having earned a place among the program's elite gymnasts in history, Dabritz is off to a tremendous season in which she is looking more and more like a gymnast who could become the school's first NCAA all-around champion since Theresa Kulikowski in 1999.

Dabritz, who won or tied for event titles in the Pac-12 championships last year on everything but the balance beam, is tied with UCLA's Samantha Peszek for the top all-around ranking, averaging 39.588.

But she isn't thinking about what could happen at the end of the year, focusing instead on just getting better.

"I want to keep improving," she said.

Obviously the tactic is working for her. —
